Default plasti dip on wheels users inside...

i am looking to paint my wheels on my G8 GT and see that alot of people use Plasti Dip.
I want to know if the Plastic Dip will stay on and hold up to bringing the car through the car wash???

Please share your experiences

Not sure about a car wash. I can say a friend had his entire car plastidipped and it made it through the entire winter un-marred. My wheels have been done for a couple months now and still look perfect after a few washes. I uses a boars hair brush to scrub them.

I've done a few brushless car washes with my truck that has plasti dipped wheels and never had an issue. Wheels have been done two years already and still look good!

TechCam97 and I did my Speedline about a year ago and they looked pretty good. Only took them off because I got new wheels. I took them through several car washes, even some that specifically spray the wheels and rocker panels and never had an issue. Even if they do get hit by a rock or scuffed when you pull a wheel off or put it back on it can be repaired with a couple of fresh coats over the old stuff (once you have cleaned it).

Just finished painting my wheels with it.

Only took 2 cans, used some degreaser to clean the wheels before hand. Not to bad IMO.

i've used it on 3 or 4 of my personal sets of wheels and have never had any get damaged from washing them. i usually just scrub them with that brush on the wall at the quarter spray wash.

I am going to paint a piece of pipe and keep it hidden until I decide to take the plasti off and see how hard its going to be to take off. I wonder if direct sunlight at 90-100 degrees will bake it on their?

i had to remove some once and the hardest part is getting a hole started so you can start, once you do that you can take it off in large pieces for the most part. my wheels have plastic center caps and those were worse than the wheels but still not bad.

here are the wheels i've got dipped now. i've also had C5Z wheels like above, 17x11 ZR1s (in sig), and Torque Thrust IIs that were all dipped black and have never had an issue with any of them.

I am about to sell my Speedlines and i am trying to get them all cleaned up. They have been dipped almost a year and it came off pretty well. The only real issues was where I didn't put it on thick enough, but with a little elbow grease and some Goo Gone everything is coming off quiet nicely...

Alot of people say for thin areas use a microfiber cloth and rub it off

Yep, that's what we did. We just used some Goo-Gone to help get it loose and get ride of the residue.
