Default Dark TA brake lights, what chrome did you use to fix it?

So I understand that the dark TA tail lights can be fixed with Chrome paint.
I just wanted to know what chrome you used to do so. Is there a particular
variety of chrome paint I should get that can withstand the varying
temperatures in the brake lights? Also which sealant did you use to
put the tail back together?

Thanks.

I can put up a link to the thread i'm referring to but it's on a competing site.

leaning towards Also chrome but just not sure it is suitable for being in a brake housing.

as soon as the weather warms up I'm going to order a kit from Alsa, I want to try and brighten up my TA tails, I have one taillight I got at a yard(1993-97 grid style), that I wanted to practice removing the lens off before I did it to another set I have, and when I got it off the inside of the housing looked like bright silver paint, not chrome. Be interested in seeing if the Alsa chrome works and if it does what they would look like with LEDs in them.

I just used ordinary primer and chrome spray paint. The two lights aren't a 100% match but it definitely looks a lot better than it did before and it was worth it. I could provide pics if you'd like

EDIT: Just realized how old this was...

Hey man, I actually haven't fixed them yet so pics would be good. I think people on this forum are just using it a little less so it takes time to get responses. My right tail is so dark that people have commented...grrr. Currently i'm driving my Forester and the WS6 is in hibernation so I have time to fix it.

Nice, that looks way better. What sealant did you use to put the casing back together?

Just regular silicone. I put one bead in that little crevice around the light where the original adhesive was, and another around the edge after I sealed it just to be safe.
