Default Never ride behind a diesel rig!

So I was just out riding in my 14 camaro 1le when I ran up behind two diesel rigs. There was no way to pass so I was stuck for about 5 miles. In what seemed like forever time frame, doing 50 mph, I gave myself some space between me and the rigs. All of the sudden this object comes from under one of the rigs bounces 20ft in the air, I slam on the brakes so whatever it is doesn't hit my windshield. It lands in from of me and hits the bottom of my car. So I thought!
A chainsaw wrench hit above my front splitter spoiler.

That's crazy. Good thing it wasn't the chainsaw. Did your condenser and radiator survive?

I mean, it's bad luck and all, but it wasn't the diesel rig driver's fault. If he intentionally threw something out the window, then yeah, chase his *** down and get his plate info, but it doesn't sound like this was the case here. On the bright side, it could have been a hell of a lot worse if it would have got the windshield.

If it didn't come from the truck itself, nothing you can do. However if it's a dump truck of some kind and a rock comes off the bed and hits your windshield, they should be held accountable as they didn't tie down their load properly. I had some object get kicked off the road by some sedan and it cracked the windshield on my Z/28 after 2 years of storage.

But according to the signs they put on their trucks they aren't responsible for anything at all
