Default new OEM f-body fender prep steps

I have 2 new OEM fenders I purchased for my TA. My car has been in paint jail and I am picking it up monday to finish it myself. The steel parts I'm good to go painted lots of steel in the past.

Plan on using Dupont Chroma Premier paint system from a local jobber.

What are the correct and proper steps to ensure there will not be a paint failure. It appears as though they are OE primed they are a matte black that is nice and smooth.

I always shoot a couple coats of primer just to make sure i have good adhesion.

btw- you want to use a black primer if your trying to match a factor colored body panel. If your painting the whole car..use whatever color floats your boat.
