Ouch.... That is no easy job, they do not sell replacement quarter pannels any more, you would have to find a donor car to cut the quarter pannel out of, also there is a whole bunch of welds around that pannel holding it in place. It is possible to replace this pannel but I would recommend a body shop do the work... that is one of the worst spots to damage on an F-body....

A auto body shop quoted it just under $7,000 to do and ive seen people who do it themselves for like 3,000 so i was wondering if it was a doable task

probably require finding a donor car and cutting the whole quarter section out and rewelding it to your car.. (after all yours is cut out)

would probably be cheaper to find a donor car and swap everything over than to fix that.

If you've never done body work before, I don't reccomend trying to replace a quarter. Not only will will you need a bunch of tools (grinder, cut off wheel, welder, spot weld drill, air hammer, etc) it's not as easy as it looks. I would definitely leave it to a professional to ensure future safety for yourself and others and so the repair lasts on the car.

Not to mention you need more then a quarter panel, you'll need an inner structure and wheel house, rear body panel and possibly floor repair. I'm not surprised its about a $7k job. Nothing for a rookie to do. I would run it through insurance and get money for it, if you have parts on it then you could always buy the car back and swap mods to another fbody or just part the whole car out and make some money
