Default incorrect paint code 9966 or 9566

I have a 99 TA WS6 / bright silver metalic paint. code on door 9966
1. paint store thinks it's a 9566 has no record of 9966
2.stealership told me all F-bodys 94-02 where paint code 9566,
they also could not tell me what 9966 was?
3. I went to a F-body gathering last month here in Atlanta, Friday I saw 5 silver f-bodys all where 9566
Saturday saw 4 more differnt f-bodys all where 9966.

I parked alongside 2 9566 cars my 9966 (bright metalic silver was brighter than the 9566 sebring silver cars

what am reduced to is using option 4 of the 9566
unless anyone has a suggestion

Lastly the body man took a week to figure out the code for inside the motor compartment now his work looks grey to the orginal silver.
wtf is going on in paint world

you know what i have found. it never turns out like you want it. unless you shell out tons of money, and your first born. i just got my car back from the shop...it looks like its stock. its suposed to be a different silver, but it looks worse than the sebring silver i had on the car. it has tiger stripes in it, the paint doesnt shine, it has shadows all over it. all for 3 grand. maaco could have gotten closer to the color i wanted. im so ashamed i wont post pics here on LS1 Tech. oh well, i found someone that says they can fix it. lets see what happens. oh yeah, i believe there are two versions of the sebring silver. one on all the f-bodys, and a shinnier silver for ram air's and ss's
thanks for your time. i feel better.

The stripes are from not 50/50 overlapping with a metallic paint, some shop told me there is a "Silver Metallic" and "sebring silver met" for the year 00/01. But he then said that, AND YES I SEARCHED/STICKY, that there was a Bright Silv Met. Which goddamn one is the nice dark-aluminum looking silver that I want? THIS THREAD IS BACK FROM THE DEAD!
