Where to get Chrome paint that is used on plastic trim

Default Where to get Chrome paint that is used on plastic trim

Does any one know what that process is ?
is it simply a spray on can I can buy or is it a dip process of some type?

Generally, when that stuff flakes off, I find a copper layer in the chips taken off. So I suspect it's not a simple spray process.

It's called vacuum metalizing and no it's not a simple process.

Vacuum metalizing is for plastics. With metal or aluminum it would use the standard plating process.

Alsa Corp does however sell a sprayable chrome. Its a rather involved process but it does look real.

There are also powder coats that give you a polished metal look.
