yea the ppg "concept" clear line is the best clears in the ppg line... though there might be better ones from other companies out there....

DuPont 72500S looks great and sprays very easily. I have sprayed the PPG Global D894 and D893 and DuPont has them beat hands down. Better gloss and depth but the DuPont and PPG all spray pretty much the same. I have never used Sikkens though.

You might consider Southern Polyurethane's Universal Clear. You can buy it here:

http://www.bakerpbe.com/catalog.php?...=SOUT05&descr=

An idiot like me can spray it and it turned out very nicely.

Their web site is here:

http://www.southernpolyurethanes.com/homepage.htm

and their web forum is here:

SPI is very good stuff. If you can get your hands on it, check out Glasurit. Top quality clears, but pretty pricey.

Sikkens is made by Akzo Nobel, they are the biggest paint manufacture in the world. It is an awesome clear you will not need to cut and buff.

Depend on who sprays it, and conditions it is sprayed in I would think.

HoK clears are good but based on old technology.

Saying Dupont is better tha PPG is blaphemy (sp) hahaha

ppg, dupont all of those are old technology, sikkens is by far the newest technology. If i had to go with old technology i would go for house of kolor. Ppg has alot of the same products in different labels with different prices. I guess that goes with any clear it depends how you spray it, but with this weather here in houston im usning slow everything and it is laying down like glass.

I have used and sprayed them all and without a doubt (in my opinion) this is the best stuff you can put on any car you care about keeping. That's why I put it on my 68 SS 396 Camaro, now valued at more than 65k. The paint on that thing is so deep it looks like you could fall into it.

Dude what is that orange color on your camaro? That is bad ***! I would love one day to do an lsx powered 69 camaro and paint it that color with maybe some white hockey stick stripes with a little hint of that orange on the white.

DuPont Chroma Premier clear and don't look back. PPG clear's UV protectant dries and settles to outter layer, which means if you wetsand the peel out your no longer safe. Dupont Is protected all the way through and sprays soo nice.

Well i guess we can all say any expensive clear is going to be good. Hok clear has twice the uv protectant than any other clear. I guess it also depends how you like to spray your clear to me it seems like the ppg clear is more gelatin like as to hok and sikkens more of a watery feel. I personaly like the watery feel and it seems to lay down better for me because it atomizes better and leaves the least orange peel. Of course you can put like 10-20% reducer in any other clear but you are going to be messing with the curing factor and with this weather i'd rather not risk it.

HOK is also nice, whom is produced by Valspar. I've sparyed Valspar clear and it layed down nice, but its been three years since that car so I wonder how its held up.
