Angry Replaced window motors, swithces, wires, & fuse!!! Still nothing HELP!!!!

I have a 2000 Z with auto windows, I have replaced everything I could think of and they won't roll up, or down !!! The motors seem to be good Cause they worked for about five minutes. I did everything short of pulling the dash to trace wires back any further, I pulled doors spliced wires and replaced swithces. What am I missing ??? Any help would be appreciated...Thanks

Did you try checking or replacing the relays for the motors?

Could be the switches. Did you check for voltage at the motors?

Not officially no ... but the switches seemed to be good cause they rolled up and down for about five minutes or so after I first installed new motors. . . . It seemed they just quit on me after i got everything put back together and I haven't been able to get them to budge since. I will check the voltage and see if there is power gettin to them... Thanks bro

judging by the section you chose to post in, perhaps you put them in wrong?

ummmmm...when you have a problem dont just go replacing parts. Diagnose the problem, then replace parts. It will save you ALOT of time and money. Go to a auto parts store and buy a cheap test light. Check voltage at the motor. If you have voltage at the motor, then its the motor. If you dont, start tracing backwards until you find the component that has voltage coming into it, but not out. Its that easy.

When you installed the new motors did you clamp the window track to the inside of the door while the window was in the full up position?

I had it about three quarters of the way up, after I got everything hooked up, it went up and never came back down... Soon as I get her out the shop I'm going to do the voltage test.

Car is getting painted right now so I won't get to it for about a week or so.... I'll get it right though as soon as I get her back. I'll post pics too on this thread after I got to the shop this weekend and check on her.

no problem man, i'm more than willing to help someone. If I ever have a problem I will definately ask questions here first, because everyone on here is really helpful. There are some exceptions, but for the most part everyone is helpful. Good luck with the fix and I hope the paint turns out good.
