Summit® lightweight Nippondenso-type Protorque starters offer a 4.0:1 gear-reduction ratio and a whopping 1.9 HP. That's 222 ft.-lbs of racecar cranking power.

I used this starter for mock up only it was never wired up. It would not work with the Kooks setback plates and header combo I had, it hit the headers. I was installing a ls motor in a 69 Camaro.

Stupid question, but are LS starters different than BB chevy starters?

I am pretty sure that they are a different bolt pattern.
