I finally got some pics of the LQ9. I have had it bagged since I took the heads off, but unfortunately it looks like I remembered to oil the crank and lower end, but I didn't oil the cylinders. It looks like the driver's side is OK, but the passenger's side (the ones with valve impacts) have some rust on the fire rings. Cylinders still look ok. No lip and still look alright.
Crank-rod
Crank-Main
Rod cap
Main cap
Driver's side cylinder bank
Passenger's side cylinder bank (side that had piston to valve contact)
Cylinder wall
Passenger side pistons all have the same size gouge in the piston tops

Sold one set of 823s, but found another.
Low mile and assembled 823s - $old
They are in great condition and appear to be very low mileage. There is some powdery oxidization on the exhaust side, which I believe was caused by some road salt as the heads came off a vehicle in Wisconsin.

Im in search of a lq4/9 block. How do the cylinders look? Any pitting? I plan on reusing only the crank and buying new pistons/rods ect. I assume it doesnt need any boring and will clean up fine? If so then id be very interested. Your actually on my commute to work and id love to stop by tomorrow after work (around 6 or so) if your gonna be around. PM me with details
