Morel Pro Series Hydraulic Roller lifters (5206) SOLD

These are not the cheaper Morel 5290 "Street" version lifters.

Morel Pro Series Link Bar Hydraulic Roller Lifters featuring .050" larger than stock roller wheels. The .750" diameter roller wheel results increased durability and decreased pressure angle.

The lifter body is fully machined from alloy steel bar stock, not a casting like OEM lifters. The nose wheel is machined from 8620 material and case hardened for durability. Morel's proprietary hydraulic valving is designed for sustained high rpm levels commonly seen in performance applications.

Since every inquiry has asked why I replaced these ... here's the answer.

I bought the new lifters and springs trying to diagnose what was going on with my car on the track. The new springs are .700 lift vs the 650 I had and the new lifters are the same lifter but for the Warhawk block (also fits LSx blocks) with slightly different tolerances in the newer design and a V shaped link bar instead of straight.

Short answer: Replaced both cam and crank sensors. Problem solved. Didn't need to replace the springs or lifters after all.

Long answer: Last Feb on the track it seems like the car was missing about mid track then quickly recovering. no codes were being thrown and HPTuners wasn't recording any misses. I had the car dynoed and it was showing my hp was flat lining in the mid 4000 range. This shop thought maybe it was valve float. So a second shop installed my new lifters and springs and nothing changed once they were in.

On examination we found that the wire to the cam sensor had been pinched behind the water pump and had a bare spot that was grounding out. So back on the dyno with a new sensor everything now looked good except that at 5500 it now dropped for a split second like it was hitting the rev limited and fuel was being cut for a moment then recovering. This happened locked in either 2nd and 3rd gear, consistently dropped at 5500 on every dyno run. After looking at a few other things we decided to swap the crank sensor which immediately fixed the problem.

... so now the original lifters and springs are up for sale to recover part of the cost of solving this problem. Simple as that.
