This is a great shifting transmission.. It was built to go behind a ls1 ss car with a 76mm turbo. But since then I have decided to go Auto with a stall and see how it goes.. When this trans was sent to tick about 3000 miles ago it was completely redone with new bearings, viper 2nd gear upgrade along with the stage 3 package.. the new bearings and 2nd gear upgrade was over 300 bucks alone not counting the 2400 paid just for the stage 3 upgrade plus i sent them a perfectly good 60k mile t56 to start with. so i have almost 5000 in this thing.. it is a perfect stage 3 viperized tick tranny and I love the way it shifts and drives but I think my car will be more consistent with an auto so it has to go.. yeah they are awesome, i have had over a dozen of them and one was behind a 900hp turbo car and they only rated the trans at 850 and i beat the hell outta it with no failure what so ever.. great trans

Martin - when you guys upgrade T-56's (or any transmission), do you put a number or mark on the trans identifying the trans, and what you did to it?

I'm just curious if there's a way to know what's been done to a transmission, that's been upgraded by Tick, if I decide to buy it.

i had the trans built while i was overseas in iraq and my brother boxed it up and shipped it for me.. the trans had 60k on it then i done the stage three upgrade with the bearing upgrade along with 2nd gear upgrade. i called him and he laughed when i asked for the reciept, he was like really man that has been a year ago lol. but i will call tick tomorrow and see if there is any record of it. if not you will just have to go off good old fashioned man's word.. i have no reasons to lie i buy and sell daily on here and i deal in high dollar cars not junk.
