Attached are some pictures I just took bolting one of my t6 style flanges with mounting ears up to one of the Borg Warner Billet 80mm ETR-HO units I stock.
The t4 version would be the same concept. As you can see it gives you an easy location to mount to and properly support your turbo without having to stack up a bunch of plates on the flange itself where your weld, and piping gets in the way.
