Skirts have normal wear marks, nothing excessive. I bought them for a motor build but ended up just buying a new set of aftermarket pistons/rods that my engine builder recommended.

He stated that the heavier Gen 4 rods wouldn't work with my Gen 3 crank unless I wanted to have the whole assembly balanced and have metal added. Since I was putting so much money into a new motor build, I decided to let him spec parts for me.

All the caps mesh nicely on the big end. I am including rod bolts to hold them together, but obviously you should replace them. No piston rings on any of the pistons. I spent an entire evening cleaning these things with a toothbrush. I never ran them in a motor, though, so I am selling them as-is since I have no personal experience with this set. I was told by the person I bought them from that they came out of a 2006 LS2 Vette.

Pistons 1-4, multiple angles. The skirts have some wear but no scratches that catch a fingernail.

Pistons 5-8. Skirts have approximately the same wear as 1-4.

That makes no sense? The cranks are literally the same from the gen 3 blocks to gen 4 blocks if I'm not mistaken? Besides the 24 to 58 tooth reluctor wheels.

It does make sense, he said that the combo wouldn't work unless it was balanced. That happens when you put a slightly heavier piston and rod.

^ that. the gen 4 rod is way heavier than the gen 3 rod.

I had a few inquiries so far, but nobody has come through

So let me get something straight. The gen 3 24 tooth crank is a different crank then the gen 4 24 tooth crank that came in the early ls2? Any other differences?

Bobweight is gonna be different but same part number on 5.3 & 6.0
cranks except the early 6.0's. FWIW I've used gen4 rods/pistons in
gen3 5.3's without balancing. No problems but they're not intended for
100k miles either.

Anyway, OP GLWS. Good deal.

These came out of an LS2. LQ9 has the weaker gen 3 rods I assume.

I did not have any interest on these for a while, so they are on ebay now. JCParmley, feel free to bid there or buy it now, if they don't meet reserve on auction, I can sell them to you.
