First off I want to say that shipping and insurance is buyers responsibility, if you don't ask for insurance on your package and pay for it you won't get it, once packages leave my hands and are at the post office I am no longer responsible. That being said, pay the insurance.

Technically the insurance is for the seller not the buyer. It's to cover the package in the event of damage or being lost.
The buyer can file a claim and get all their money back if it doesn't arrive and/or is damaged upon delivery.
So always insure, also always add it in the price when selling. It's only $4-$5 to insure up to $500..
