The depth on the first level that would contain the speaker cage is 5 1/2 inches. the magnet could probably sit even deeper depending on its size. Total depth of the box is 12 inches, but "steps" down in size based on the space constraints in the area it mounts. Not sure who made the box, as it doesnt have any markings on it. Very nice quality though, definitely not a homemade hack job. Again, it doesnt have any speaker mounting rings, wiring terminals, etc. Any stereo shop should carry all this stuff for cheap though.
