Default 4th Gen Fbody Vert Top Link Needed

I need two of these for a 4th gen fbody. There is one on each side of the convertible top in the area above the windows. It's part of all the linkage that controls how the top folds down. Note in the pic that the plastic cap on the left end is broken off. It should look like the one in the closeup pic. GMPartsDirect told me that they are no longer made. If anyone has one or knows where I might find one, post up.

I called this guy, and he finally called me back today. He is a super-nice guy, but god he is confusing me. He has no email so I can't send him my picture. He is certain that he knows the part I am talking about, but he has two versions of it. The one that he says is for 96 when he describes it, he says that it has a ball joint on one end and a nut on another. Mine has a ball joint on both ends. He says he has one like that, but then when he describes it to me, it doesn't sound like what I have. He says he tried to fax me a schematic but his fax won't go through. And "them computers ain't for me". He is nice, and he is patient, but he wants over $50 each for these things. I can't plop down that kind of money without know for sure that I am getting the right thing. He says he is sure he has the right part, but when he describes it, it doesn't sound like my part.

Billy is semi-retired...he plays with the F-body parts as a hobby now. He parted out about 500 of these cars from the mid 90s to 2002. He bought only current year cars to part out (only 98s in 98 and only 99s in 99 and so on) so all his parts are off brand new cars. I can not begin to tell you how big his warehouse full of new parts is...plus he has about 100 cars that are basicaly untouched as far as parts. He knows more about these cars than anybody ever...I mean down to what casting number wheel goes with which year car off the top of his head. I would suspect if he says he knows what part you need he does...I am sure if he sends it and its wrong then he would make it right. Or maybe you could send him your part and he could match it, but your right NO COMPUTERS! lol

When I need nice stuff for a car hes who I see...hes high but its the highest quality parts anywhere.

Still looking for this. Even if someone just has one of the little platic ball-joint ends, that's all I really need.

It is old. Still looking for them. In fact, you posted back in June that you had seen a vert in the junkyard and was going to check it out. Hope this one pays off.
