My dad has a ls1 powered 1961 Impala. The speedometer output went out so we are looking for a new computer.

It runs on a '98 computer. I would like to try and get something quick, to give to him for fathers day.

So if anyone has something and can get it shipped out fairly quick, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Call Pace Performance (GM performance dealer). They can ship a re-manufactured unit to you today. The way it works is that you give 'em the vin number for so they can load the proper tune & then you return the non-working unit as a core once received. Good-luck.

the only thing is I don't have the vin on the computer.

I have EFIlive so I was just hoping to get any computer then swap it all over.

On second thought, EFIlive stores the vin I think, so I may be able to use that. I'd just have to wait until I get home from work.

Finding someone local may be the ticket. I think I'm going to give thunder a ring.

Since you have EFI live, you don't need it flashed. Just copy it over yourself. Can use any 98 PCM auto or manual. Reflash will replace existing tune, as you know.

Honestly if you have a 0411 you should just repin your 98 harness... 98 computers suck...

I agree but my Dad DGAF about what computer is best. His car is wired and runs great and the computer is mounted. The speedo just doesn't work.

I just ordered one from rockauto. ~100 bucks.
