Just get a '98 fuel pump assembly and be done with it. Why buy a tank if yours is fine? Money in the trash if you ask me.

Were you planning on dropping the tank or doing the access panel?

I dont plan on swaping tanks i was just curious on what the difference was

Im dropping the tank, we did the access panel on my girls car and it doesnt seal well so the car reeks of fuel :/ havnt been able to get a good seal on it for a while, we have youse acrylic, RTV, Window Caulk, everything except an adhesive. we even tried window gasket, and just gasket material. plus i have sound deadner threw out the car, so i dont want to go that way, id rather just drop the axle and then drop the tank, i have 2 nice 2-ton jacks so i think i can get her booty up high enough

The 99-02 tank is plastic and has an evap system on top of it. The 98 is steel (the tank is actually identical to a 93-97 tank). Only the 98 bucket will work for your car tho.

Oh OK that's rather odd but then again we are talking GM lol. So does the 98' have the evap setup like the 93-97?
