I need a new Transmission NOW I've posted this in Automatic Transmissions too.
My stock A4 from my 98 TA with 97k miles on it is at the end of its life. I need someone to recommend a good tranny that can handle 500 rwhp. This car is a daily driver. I want the best 1/4 mile I can get without sacrificing mpg. I am planning to buy a tranny and have Cottman Transmissions install it for me, but if someone has a shop near Nashville, TN, I could be swayed.
Please, tell me what to look for in a good street transmission and who a good builder is. If you are a builder, give me your sales pitch. I intend to buy within a few days.
