Default Flashing Engine Light-PROBLEM!! PLEASE HELP!!

i went out with a couple of friends earlier and we were messing around. Anyways, while racing an 03 cobra, my check engine light started to flash. I dont think its emissions cause i have a bad stock catalytic converter and the light has been on for quite some time. Anyways lately, when i run the car hard it seems like it has a hiccup at about 4k rpms. I dont have a clue what is wrong i have read misfires as wells as emissions. Please help me figure this one out. I raced a total of three times and it flashed all three. Then in my little town, i started to get on it a little and redlined a couple of times and no flashing light. I have no clue what is wrong, again PLEASE HELP. Thanks.

What mods have you done, what vehicle is it?
It could be an emissions related problem like O2's. After I fitted LT's I got a flashing SES light going on, but came and went and during usual driving.

Flashing check engine light is usually a misfire. You need to scan the car and see under what conditions it misfires. This is probabally why it hiccups

Double check your codes with a scanner, at Autzone, etc. Most likely a misfire problem (flashing MIL). I would examine all your plug wires and pull the plugs to have a look.

Replace your fuel filter too if it has 75K on it.

what do you mean, "bad"?? As in plugged up, melted brick, leaks,???
Get it plugged up enuf, and you can expect excessively hi back psi, hi egt, and such.
Why would you race it, knowing you have a serious problem???

what serious problem. The cat is not plugged its gutted and i havent bought a new one. This is the first time for the misfire so i stopped and took it home to park it and then fixed it like 2 days ago. The next day it was fixed. My plugs were so worn down they had a gap of .086!!

"i have a bad stock catalytic converter and the light has been on for quite some time."
Maybe, if you had described the cat as being gutted, not "bad", one could make a better asessment of the problem??
Now, .086 gap is "bad"!
