Default Tuning Issue

Okay, here is my dilemma. I am in the process of installing an LS6 crate engine in my 98 Camaro. I have upgraded the cam (TSP 228R 228/228 .588//.588 114 LSA), valvesprings, pushrods, oil pump, timing chain, thermostat, under drive pulley, FAST 78mm intake, full exhaust, and 30lb SVO injectors (36lb flow on an LS1). The car is an M6.

Obviously this set up needs a tune and I plan on taking it directly to Speed, Inc. as soon as I pick it up. My question is, is it safe to drive the car 20+ miles to do that on the stock tune or will I be risking some damage?

My greatest concern would be the driving around on the larger injectors.

That is my concern as well. It's either getting a tune at your place or Speed, Inc. which is a lot closer. Either driving it there or having it towed there.

I wouldn't try to drive it untuned with the bigger injectors. I wouldn't even try to start it without re-scaling the IFR table.

How far is the drive, although really isnt a really big issue i have seen guys drive with new injectors for long periods without a tune. If it was me I would just drive it their, but not drive it hard.

the problem isn't the drive; you will reach closed loop and be ok, the problem is the open loop warm up.

Mail your PCM to your tuner for a base flash to get you rolling until you get it to him; that's how most tuners would do I imagine.

It's 24 miles from door to door. I had planned on picking up the car and driving it right there.

Or just put the injectors on once you get there. We have people doing that all the time. If you do drive it would run rough, and depending on how bad the plugs get, they might have to be changed.

You could just take the pcm to them in advance to a rough tune before the car is even finished.

Thanks for all of the advice guys. I decided to just stick with the stock injectors and have them install the new injectors when they do the tune.
