SES light on, no codes?

SES light on, no codes? I took my car to Autozone to get it scanned for an SES light. The light was on when I arrived. The guy plugged in the little scantool and tells me there are NO codes, car should be ok. I know for a fact when I had gone last month I needed both front o2 sensors. Well, I could only buy one and finally bought the other. Before I install them I wanted to check the codes again and I was told there aren't any. He told me to wait to see if it pops up again and it did, now same problem. No codes. WTH is going on here. My trap speeds have taken a dive. I'll install the o2's, but I'd like to make sure my car is picking up these codes and at least storing them.

Re: SES light on, no codes? Also, is there a possibility of the guy accidentally deleting the code? Someone had once mentioned something about deleting a "code history".
