Question Idle rpm for California smog test

Does anyone know the allowed idle rpm for California smog test? I want to set it as high as I can with out going over the limit which will cause a fail. Thank you for any help.

I was wondering about this the other night too. You have a hotcam though what are you worried about? I passed with my 224/228.

From my last test, they only do 15 MPH and 25 MPH tailpipe testing. Setting your idle as high as possible is not going to do anything to pass the test, just make them think you have a vacuum leak. Also the ECM will control the idle rpm to the programmed value, if you alter the set screw then it will throw a TPS code, which results in a failed test.

They tested mine at idle, but I passed. Tuning the car to idle at a certain RPM may very well be an option.

If they did, as mine was a while ago, then they would check to ensure the idle RPM is within spec.

A4 = 550-650 or so
M6 = 800-900 or so

I think the 114 LSA helped you. Mine is 112. I was trying to hide the choppy idle.

I tune with EFILive. Idle speeds are programmed.
