Default Maybe retarded, but why are the gms/cyl so low,high HP car?

I'm a little confused. Why is the calculation of the gms/cyl pretty close to the same on my friend 5.3 truck, my car, and my other friends TR230 Z06? They all go to mid .60's on the gms/cyl calculation I have in EFI live (MAF*15)/RPM. Does not make a whole lot of sense? Why does the table even go up that high?

As a side question, how does the MAF gms/second correspond to horspower, or is there a relation? I'd heard a while back that each gm/sec was about 1 rwhp, but that does not seem true at all as my friend's Z06 only pulls 310ish according to EFI Live and mine's high 200's.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Ok, I'll try.
1. 5.7 and 5.8 Liter engines have nearly the same cylinder volume.

5800cc=5.8 liter, 5800cc/8= 725cc/cyl

5700cc/8= 712.5 cc/cyl

So with 8 cylinders we have 725 and 712.5 ccs for 5.8L and 5.7L respectively.

2.At standard temp and pressure (101.3 kPa)atmospheric air has 1.29 grams per liter ( or 1000cc).

3. 725cc/cyl * 1.29 grams/1000cc = 0.935g/cyl

4. 712.5cc/cyl * 1.29 grams/1000cc = 0.919g/cyl.

So at WOT(101.3 kPa) the engine is filling each cylinder with a little more than 0.9 grams of air. As the RPM increases the the total airflow, of course, increases ( per unit time).

I hope this helps. If anyone cares to add or correct ...please do
