Question on 02 sensor codes and long tubes
I'm getting the following codes,
P0135 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
P0155 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 1).
All I have is mods in sig, mail order tune to get the car running, with appropriate items deleted in the PCM, homemade longtube headers, tubes approx. 30-36 inches long, with the sensors in the collectors.
Am I correct in assuming that the codes are due to the sensors not heating up enough. Can it be that the sensors are bad, need to be clean? This is a junkyard engine and I used the O2 sensors that came with it.
The car seems to be running rich also and had a off idle stumble in gear. I can't really drive it too far to try and heat anyhting up since its not street legal at the moment.

Put in a pair of Bosch 13111's.
I've had good success with these and long tubes, and so have many others. But if you do a search on these sensors on this forum there are mixed reports.

yeah i just found another post about moveing the closed loop enable
temperature up closer to my minimum hot ECT
reading. so what temp should i move it up to? I have HP tuners...
so right now its at, (IAT vs. ECT) -40/140, -22/140/, -4/140, then 92 all the way across.

I ended up puttign two Bosch Universal sensors in and reset the PCM, codes gone. So I'm not sure how much the headers effect, mine are loceated int he collector, probably 36 inches downstream.

the first time i got the code the wires where all burnt from the headers.. so we re-wired them and the code still came back up.. but it took a few weeks before the ses light poped up. should i re set the pcm? or just keep usein the HPtuners to clear the code?
