Default Formula for shift points

I am helping out a guy in our car club tune his car, part throttle and WOT on the dyno.

He has a 2000 Trans Am A4 3.23 gear, TR230 cam and Pace Setters LT. I have set the rev limtiers to 6700 and I want it to shift at 6,500 RPMs (I think).

Does anyone have to formula to figure out the MPH and/or does anyone know what my MPH should be from previous experience.

Thanks in advance!

Bill

Default Re: Formula for shift points

I'll take a stab at WOT..... 1-2 35mph, 2-3 77mph...

Edit pretty much ignores you on this anyway, you have to keep fiddling until you find the right mph. The thing is, your pcm does not take into account your cam or your aftermarket converter and what not, so it's an in-exact science at best. Some guys say to set the mph a little lower and then it will just shift at the commanded RPM, well, that did not work for me.....
