Default pcm question

i have talked to a few guy that tune fbodies, and they said that tuning the ls7 pcm is much easier than tuning an ls1 pcm particularly a 98. can i swap y 98 ls1 pcm to the ls7, and if i can is it worth it. im not going to be tuning the car myself, so its not really going to affect me unless the quality of the tune is worse with the 98. any info or insight will be appreciated. thanks

LS7 is can\bus have not heard of that swap.
tuning a '98 is not a problem if you have the software
it was a one year pcm for f-body

You need a PCM from a 2001/2002 F-body (...part number ends in 0411...).

You will need to re-pin your PCM connectors, and possibly change the fuel segment in the calibration file.

The 2001/2002 engine calibrations use a single VE table which make tuning easier.

That wont be a problem to make it a 4l80e if you use the 12200411 ecm.

I have hundreds of those ecms in stock if you need one. $75 plus 10 for shipping is all i charge.

You would use a 12212156 file from a 2002 Firebird/Camaro with auto trans, and replace the 4L60E trans calibration to the 4L80E trans calibration from 12212156 truck file... some people have done this on the EFILive forum.

If I remember, you may also need the Fuel calibration from a 12212156 van file (I don't remember).
