Default copying an 02 tune to a 98??

I just swapped my engine from my 02 T/A into my 98 camaro...I swap the harness to the 98 along with the computer so that it would be capatable with the 98 camaro..

I know you can't just flash the 02 tune into the 98 car... so I tried copying and pasting all the tables into the 98 tune so I could avoid having to get it retuned.. The only thing I left was the firing order , I noticed it was different on the 98 than the other years..after doing this the car was misfiring and I'm thinking that maybe some of the tables have different values or something...
Can someone give me some input on where I made my mistake..BTW this is using HPTuners

thankyou

do not change the firing order of the stock 98 setup. Did you do this, it is unclear?

I'm not sure I understand...you said you did swap the harness and computer from the 2002 as well? If thats the case, just continue using the 2002 code. If you kept the 98 harness, thats ok too, it's actually not that difficult to re-pin it's connectors to let you plug the 2002 computer right in...and that is a better computer.

well no, I have the 98 harness with the computer, but I went to campare file with 98z28 tune and the 02 T/A tune and copied and pasted all the tables from the 02 to the 98 computer.. and the car was running like ****.. so I was curious to know if anyone knows if theres different values or parameters between the 2 computers

Yes the whole operating system is different as well as some tables and parameters. Some of the tables you copied won't work with the 98 operating system. I think you will either need to start with the base 98 tune file and re-tune it or swap all the pins at the pcm and use your 02 pcm. This is the better plan since the 02 has a better operating system. Also if you use the 98 pcm you need to do a crank angle relearn as well...

Double check, some of the tables are flip flopped if I remember correctly meaning the columns and rows are opposite for some tables. It was a PITA, so I upgraded the computer, it's much easier once you've done that, It seems you never find 98-00 files, most are 01 and 02, makes comparisons a lot easier
