Default Intermittent Fuel Pump Signal

I have an E38 ECM running an LY6 in my 72 Chevelle.

Sometimes the fuel pump will not prime or run.

Most of the time I go out, turn the key, it primes and fires right up. It will idle all day.

Occasionally I turn the key and it does not prime. I went for the first drive today and it when I give it some gas the motor responds, but when I let off, it dies and the fuel pump is not running. I try to restart, no pump. 1 minute later, key on fuel pump runs.

I have checked the relay and I have confirmed with a test light that the +12v signal from the ECM is intermittent. I can jump the relay and it runs the pump every time, key on or off.

Any idea what might cause this?

Default

Bad power/ground connections and/or bad PCM.
