Default Should I stay away from this place?

:So I called a local tuning shop and ask them if they do dyno tuning because I want to get one. He says yes and I say, "oh cool, so what program do you have, HP tuners? And do you use a wide band?". He says, "hold on, back up, what kind of car do you have?" I tell him a 2000 trans am and he says "um, we would use a diablo power programmer for that". WTF?

They offer a handheld tuner like a hypertech, unless there's something new that they have come out with that I've never seen as of yet.

I'd stay away from that, the hendheld tuners are at best o.k, forget adjusting the PE tables or any of that for a bigger cam. If you're more tehn boltin's, and plan to be eventually I'd stay away from them, don't waste your $

It would work fine for what you got done and it depend's on what they charge.I did a Hypertech Tuner and a P&P TB and went 5 tenth and 4 MPH faster in the 1/4.

Some shops use CMR software to custom tune with and then use the Diablo to flash the tune into the vehicle.

Id personal go with the most full function program for tuning.
. . the diablo is for minor adjustments and reading CELs and maybe a little street tuning.
