Default HPTuners reload stock tune?

I'm new to tuning, with a pc anyway I have hptuners 2.2.

I've never actually run this setup but its a 2002 vette complete drive train. It will currently start up but only run a few seconds then shuts off. I checked vats and it is disabled in the current tune.

I'm getting these DTC's P1220, P1221, P1518 The TAC module is used so I don't if its good or not.

The only thing I've modded was long tubes and a ported throttle body, no rear O2 sensors.

PCM is new and tune was done by wait4me. I have a factory tune that I downloaded from HPTuners but not sure how to replace existing tune, if I need another license?

Ideally I'd like to find a tune with similar mods...

If you want a tune similar to yours, go to HPtuners.com and look up your vehicle and see what tunes people have posted. Ideally, try to fine one that has similar mods and go from there.

Open the editor
Open your tune
Go to compare, open compare file (stock tune downloaded from the tune depository)
Go to compare, show differences
Go to compare, view comparison log
Copy and paste values from the stock tune to your file. Save as a new file and now you have a stock tune and a modified tune.
Write calibration when you're done and you now have a stock tune loaded.

so you're throwing throttle position sensor codes and a TAC module to pcm code...
why would you need to reload a stock tune?

you have a new throttle body.. try logging your throttle position (TPS) voltage. with car off, on, then press on the accelerator (assuming you have a pedal at this point) to see if there's any response.
i'm not absolutely sure exactly what the voltage should be, but if that voltage is too low, it will throw codes and shut the car down.
at idle on my 99 ss, i'm at .51v. i wouldn't say you need to take it up that high, but if its below .15v or something, i'd twist the screw on the throttle body so the blade closes at a slightly higher TPS voltage. see if that helps?

Default tune

I've read where others have had a similar problems with these tunes, that's why I grabbed a stock one from HP Tuners. This is a new pcm so I just needed something to get me going. I'll see if I can log the voltage.

Default still won't idle starts up but shuts off

I got a hold of another tac module that is supposedly good. I swapped it out and got the same results. Right now I still get P1221 and P1220. I have 5 volts reference at both TP Sensor 1 and 2.

TP Sensor 1 Signal also has 5v but TP Sensor 2 Signal has 3.8v.

Is there a way to log the voltage with HPT for both Sensors? One log does TPS but it's in %.

Thanks calongo_ss I got the tune swapped out to a stock tune, but same results still won't stay running

My local dealer will reload/flash my stock tune for $85. Don't know what you are paying but this sounds like a deal to me.

I would say, check the wiring from your pedal to the tac module, and the tac module to the computer. MAKE SURE THE PINK WIRE TO THE TAC MODULE from the harness has 12 v while the key is ON AND WHILE CRANKING. That is usually the problem. NOT the computer tune.

Default no start

I figured out how to capture some logging. This attch. screen shot is when I first fire it up. I think the throttle position voltage at 0 volts could be part of the problem.

I did have to replace this connector C2 as it was damaged when i got the harness...

DVM measurements all while the key in the on position On C2:
pin 1 = 5v at the tps connector pin c
pin 2 = 5v at the tps connector pin a
pin 3 = 0
pin 4 = 12v when cruise set enabled
pin 5 = 12v when cruise resume enabled
pin 6 = 5v
pin 7 = 12v
pin 8 = 0
pin 9 = 5v at the tps connector pin d
pin 10 = 0
pin 11 = 3.8v at the tps connector pin f
pin 12 = 3.6v
pin 13 = 3.6v
pin 14 = 12v when cruise on enabled
pin 15 = tested good ground
pin 16 = 0

pin 7 pink wire has 12V while cranking...

C1:
pin a = 0
pin b = 0
pin c = 2-4v varies with throttle movement
pin d = 5v
pin e = 5v
pin f = .5-2.2v varies with throttle movement
pin g = 5v
pin h not used
pin j = 0
pin k = 2.5-4v varies with throttle movement

(wait4me) i have a stock tune loaded up, once I get it running i'll try your tune again...

I also have above 50 psi fuel pressure at the rail test port.

Default finally running!!!

Pink wire from Tac module pin 11 to TPS 2 voltage came up open. I jumped the wire right to the sensor and it started right up. Next I just need to find the damaged wire in the loop and fix it correctly...
