Default COS5 idle map

Does anyone use their COS5 (alpha n) map to control idle only? I have the map active from idle to 5% TPS and 0 to 1200 RPM only. I mirrored my previous idle cells from the VE table to the target section on the alpha n map. However, I still have the timing searching a bit. How can I lock down the timing as well?

Check you base timing has consistant values around where your idling. Also perhaps dial back you idle spark underspeed/overspeed values.

On Delta N. I found very few situations where you actually need it. If MAP is stable then you don't really need it. 8TB Manifolds and really large (250+ cams) are the only time I've ever seen it required.
