getting codes tuned out...

i heard getting codes tuned out will cause an obdII test to either show up as "not ready" or will cause that area to fail...whats the deal?

On my 2000 Camaro, I have all rear O2, EGR and AIR related codes turned off and just passed emissions test last Monday, no problem.

All mine are off and they read ready. Its the visual thats the bitch down here.
