Question '99-'02 Computer Into '98 F-body?

I have a '98 Camaro that I want to swap in a 99-02 computer. I know I need the engine/trans harness, computer, fuel sending unit (I already have). What else do I need?

Do I need the under the dash harness, do I have to change my gauge cluster? I done a search on this and I can't find anything that I'm looking for. I'm sure it's out there, I just havn't been able to find it!

Thanks in advance!!

I haven't done this myself, but I'm pretty sure you can buy the 01-02 pcm and repin your stock wiring.

Are you using efi live or hp tuners? If efi live you don't need to replace your fuel sending unit. You can just reflash with a different fuel gauge segment. HP tuners won't let you swap fuel gauge segments so you would need to change the sender and the cluster. You would also have to get a different cluster harness or at least modify the one you have now. Also you don't really need to change the entire engine harness, you can just re-pin the connectors at the pcm.

Thanks for the info guys!!

Yes I use EFI Live. Ok, now where do I get the info to do the repin?

So are you saying that if I swap the computer and repin my 98 harness, that I can keep my gauge custer and gauge harness? Or do I still have to change that either way I go?

I think if you use hp tuners then you have to get a different cluster.

If you use efi live you don't touch the fuel sending unit, cluster, or cluster harness. All you have to do is re-pin the pcm connectors and reflash the pcm. Use the fuel segment out of an 02 express van in your bin file. You will have to invert the "Fuel Gauge Calibration" table afterwards otherwise your gauge will work backwards. There is a ton of info on the efilive forum on how to do that. If you still have issues pm me and I can help. I did this a year ago and mine works great. Here is a link to download a file that will tell you which pins go where on your pcm:
