Default Timing Retard for Nitrous 150 wet shot

Ok some people are saying that I dont need a tune for a 150 wet shot plate kit which I hoppeee is true.. If a tune is needed should I have a pro tune it?or buy a msd timing tuner which I have no idea how to use(with help on her I could get it done)..I really dont want to run really crappy while drivng on the street without nitrous though

your best bet it to get a professional tune when your spraying upwards of 75-100...wouldnt want to risk it..

you don't "need" a tune but I wouldn't spray without one, too many variables. Make sure you change the plugs.

Yea I dont want to risk it..Does a tune for a 150 shot have a negative effect on every day driving? I put down 316/336 Mustang dyno with Lts,Intake,Ory,Cats!,Cutout,02Sims,ALL UNTUNED so is their any possibilty the nitrous TUNE might help make a little power on the streets?

i had wait4me do my nitrous tune before i got hptuners....timing was at 25degrees for a 150 and the car made awseome power n/a......most say its safe on stock tuning, but im not one to agree with that...maybe a kit thats rated at the flywheel......atleast get a mail order and have a few degrees pulled out......

well most LS1's like about 28-29* timing N/A and the rule of thumb is 2-3* for every 50hp. I typically run about 20-23* just to be safe. I run 11.8-12.0 a/f ratio also and I have cooler NGK plugs gapped at about .035" and I installed some MSD 8.5MM's while I was in and I've had no issues after 5 tanks.

Well with a wet kit the only way you'll loose power is by lowering timing slightly (unless you get a timing box) and the smaller plug gap.

Right now I Have a Stock tune With LTS,Intake,Ory,Cats!,Cutout so If I get my car dyno tuned to run nitrous will I lose N/A power?5 02ls1 so you made a little bit more N/A power with a nitrous tune?

Yes, like everyone else has said - you're leaving a little on the table in order to be "safe" on the spray. 20* is about right for a 150 shot. Don't forget plugs!
