Default Catalyst and Evap Wont Read Ready Help Help

I have a stock 2003 Chevy Silverado 4.8L that I cannot get to read ready. I installed 2 catalytic converters drove about 900 miles so i know it went through the drive cycle and every time i hook it up to my scanner tool it will not read ready. What can I do to get it to ready out. IS there a known malfunction with this computer system that i dont know about. Any and all information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Cliff

Hey Cliff,

you may already know about this, but if not, it may help: http://www.obdii.com/drivecycle.html

I would start with the EVAP, are there codes for it?
I have been bitten by an EVAP malfunction which
showed no codes (Predator or EFILive_v6 scanner)
but only Tech-II could see. Sometimes one class of
fault inhibits other unrelated things (like for me, the
EVAP problem prevented the crank relearn from
going).

If the drive cycle doesn't do it, I'd dig deeper there.
In my case it was some valve back at the fuel tank
(per dealership, warranty fixed so I did not participate)
but a crusty gas cap could do it too.
