Tip > Removed your AIR system? > Remove the fuse too
Just a little heads up that may save you a problem down the road:
8 months ago I removed the complete AIR system (to include the pump) when I did a cam, heads, header change. Had the AIR system code removed in the PCM at the same time.
Well, 8 months later I get a continual SES light. After about 3 days of looking at this light, It came to me; Maybe it's being set by the wires that used to attach to the AIR pump. You know, they are just hanging there now.
I removed the AIR pump fuse ... Bingo! the light went out and has never returned.
May happen to you too ... May not. Just my tip to you. If you remove your AIR system, take out that AIR pump fuse even if you had the AIR code removed from the PCM. Just takes a second.

Definately remove any uneeded fuses... When you remove systems but leave the wires powered up, that's just more risk for shorts if something happens..
Remove the fuses and leave the wires unpowered = safest bet.

I just changed the cam in my car and put in some QTP long tubes without emissions provisions. I obviously had to remove the AIR and EGR system. Does the EGR have a fuse also that needs to be removed? Does the EGR also throw a code? Thanks.

EGR will throw 2 codes. they are EGR high and EGR low.
it doesn't effect performance any and when you get the car tuned you can have em knock the EGR out along with the rear O2 sensors so you can sell the simms

I just removed my fuse after running without the air pump hooked up for a few weeks.
Hey, Are you making this stuff up so we will start pulling fuses? :p

Tommy ..
Sure am. In fact, next I'm going to recommend that everyone remove there fuel pump fuse as a way to insure .. 'no fuel pump will burn out before it's time'.
