If you get rid of the evap system you are going to have to plug the port on the throttle body, and vent the tank. The 98's have the canister in the wheel well behind the driverside tire. The lines go up to the tank also. I did this and now there are some pretty vicious fumes that I smell everyone once and a while with the car sitting under the car port. So just be aware if you keep it in a garage.

I am having the same problem but I can't find my canister. Does anyone know where it is on an 02 Camaro?

yea it's going to be on top of the tank, like stated. i took everything out except the canister and just put some foam off a 4wheeler air filter over the line that runs from the canister. that way the canister takes care of the fumes, but i removed everything that runs under the car and in the engine bay.
