Default What to do with bad maf harness/wire?

Finally got to get some atap runs and figured out my mysterious 'now and then' misfires. My MAF frequency would all of a sudden goto 0 and that's when the car acted up. I found by wiggling the main connector on the maf that the readings would jump from 0 to normal. I have an 85mm maf so I have the adapter harness. Could I just cut the harness out and use spade terminals?

Might just solder the wires to their target posts one
by one and then pot up the receptacle with silicone
sealer.
