Default LT1 CPS SES-can it be defeated?

I have swapped to the true roller timing chain and electric water pump. I need to get the car inspected here in Upstate NY but the PCM instantly checks the crankshaft position sensor and throws the SES light because I don't use that sensor. Is there anyway to defeat the detection of the code?
LT1's just use the CPS for diagnostics. It's not used to time the spark, etc.
Thanks,
Dave

I used a 95 computer in my 96 with no problem. 95s did not have the crank position sensor. I am not sure about the obdII part though.

I normally run the OBDI computer but state inspections are now mandating the OBDII computer in the OBDII cars.
