Default O2 Sensor? Service Engine Light

i have an issue with my 02 Trans Am like the title says the service engine light is on. I went to autozone and the code was BBHO2S22. So far i have checked the wires to my O2 sensor they look good. Next I unplugged the battery hoping to clear the code but no dice light is still on. I put a new fuel filter and filled the tank with preimum shell gas thinking that might be the issue. I guess the next thing to do would be to change the sensor... The thing that gets me is the car only has 37000 miles on it so i am wondering if this is a common issue and whats the best route to fix this issue. Any input would be appreciated.

thx
isaac

Don't take it to a dealer, they'll probably charge you a diagnostic fee. Try another auto zone location.
