Could this problem be fixed with a tune?
Sorry for the dumb ?'s guys, but I recently bought my first LS1 car. 99' TA A4 car.
The car runs great, but when I run it at the track I leave it in drive and let it shift itself. The car seems to hit the rev limiter on the 2-3 shift. The car pops 2 or 3 times then finally shifts into 3rd and it's fine from then on thru the run.
The tranny was replaced about 4k miles ago and it a probuilt with good parts.
Should I be looking at shift points and rev limiter or possible tranny issues?
Thanks

It's hard to say. It could be as simple as raising the rev limiter or lowering the shift point slightly. Or it could be that the trans is shifting slower than desired which means rpm's continue to rise enough to tag the rev limiter. There is some tuning that can be done to make it shift faster unless there is an underlying mechanical problem. If it feels like it shifts normal to firm, it would likely be an easy fix with tuning.
