hp tuner newbie
I am putting a magnacharger on a 2007 lq4 with a 4l80e and was wondering if it would be worht it to buy the basic hp tuner software thata like 500 bucks to do the tuning because noone around here does that sort of thing. The tuner from magnacharger that is a can tune is 405 bucks. So would the extra 100 bucks be worth it?

Its definitely a great investment, with a scanner that you scan nearly every 97+ gm vehicle, most late model GM's and soon Dodge as well all at no extra cost its a must have and worth its cost for nearly everyone that purchases. New units come with enough credits to tune up to 4 vehicles so at $125 per vehicle it is actually at a lower cost per vehicle. For most doing your own tuning is very rewarding, similar to doing an engine swap or adding heads and cam...while it can be a little time consuming knowing you did the work and can change things at any time is nice to know.

You also should get/need a wideband. I have the standard and run the wideband through my egr. I would recommend the pro. It makes it easier to hook up widebands, etc. As well as being able to log without a cpu. I regret sometimes not getting the pro, but I don't ever plan upgrading as well. It cost quite a bit more to upgrade than to just buy it upfront. jmo

Any 0-5 volt output. Alot use the ac pressure switch as well. If your pcm has egr in it. You can turn it on in the editor and pin the pcm for it, with the wb wire. Which I don't know if your pcm has it. You can go to the hptuners forum and get way more info on it.
