Default AEM anyone?

Well long story short a buddy of mine who is a AEM tunning guru from town here who has a 949 awhp EVO and use to help with tuning of my own car is begging to tune AEM on F bodys around this area. We didnt know it was out there as were use to tuning with HP tuners, Fast, Big Stuff etc. He went searching for this and is all about getting us to try it out on the F bodys! Do any of you guys have experience with AEM on a high hp or quick F body? Basically if you do whats your feedback.

I have tuned and used the AEM on turbo mustangs, DSMs, and a few others. My opinion is that generally it's a neat ECU but problematic at times. Most LS1 guys will go straight to BS3 or something like that.

I agree, I tune them on the Vipers here as they are a nice plug and play option. Have two here over 1000hp on E85 right now. They do give me fits now and then, and have to be sent back to AEM a lot more often then I care too. I would stick with BS3or the factory ECU till 1000+hp.

Thanks for the imput guys. Ive noticed they can be a pain in the *** sometimes as one of my buddys has it and he has all kinds of problems with the ems box and has sent it in and they think theres nothing wrong with it but everytime he shuts the car of it looses the map. I was just kind of wondoring what what peole thought of it for F bodys or if anyone has used it and what there opinions were. Thanks keep it comming.

BS3 is the only way to go in my opinion. Great system.

I had the EMS in my WRX and I have a friend who has it in an EVO, and they are good units for that, I know a guy who uses it in a 1500+hp mustang (drag only) and it seems to work okay but they can be a bit unfriendly for a daily driver setup.

yeah stay away from AEM if your looking to run big injectors. The driver boxes fail a lot and will cost you more in the long run. I just ripped the aem out of my supra and put a BS3 in it
