Default Changing PCM type and engine harness

Hi

I am willing to transplant engine from damaged 2006 TBSS (E40) o 2007 TBSS (E67). Lingelfelter does module that can convert signal from E67 (58X) type engine to older harness (e40 in my case), but I need the opposite swap.
It will be moved from donor car (damaged in accident) so all parts could be moved from one to another.
Questions:
1. Is it enough to change engine harness together with new PCM? Does this change needs some rewiring or only simple swap of harnesses?
2. Will PCM from another vehicle be tied to another computers? How should new type PCM tied with other hardware?
Also who have done similar wiring jobs for similar cars could also tell does wiring is more standartised in newer GM cars or differ from year to year and from model to model.

Thanks for help.

Why are you doing the swap?

Hi

Because I can get this engine almost for free and it is good running engine. 2007 TBSS engine is damaged (spun bearing, bad crank, also there is possibility that block is also damaged).
So I think it will be cheaper to replace this engine together with all the parts because donor car is still running and I can get all the parts I need.

Changing the computer will just be a waste of time and money. I've personally never tuned on either computer so I don't know if there are any advantages that way, but I seriously doubt its worth the trouble.

Main problem that there are different types of ECM 1006 has 24 tooth wheel on crank, and 2007 has 58. So I need to change computer.

I'm not sure what all is involved, but you can change the reluctor wheel itself. I've seen the 24 tooth wheel for $25 new. You may be able to keep reuse your old one.

Well I totally missed that, and changing the reluctor wheel on the crank is pretty involved. Doing a little research on EFIlive's forum I'm pretty sure you'll have to change the harness also, wish I knew what else you'll run into with this swap please let me know I'm curious. Subscribed.
