Default AFR for WOT and Idle question

What's a good idle AFR and what's a good WOT AFR

I want to double check my numbers of 14.5 at idle and 12.7 at WOT?

ive been using a tailpipe sniffer so how much differance will i see if i used the header bung?

For MOST street cars, stoich is where you want idle to be....some combinations may do better with a slightly richer ratio, but stoich is where it's at for most gas cars.

12.7 is fine for WOT, best way to find out is at the track or on a dyno.

Your air fuel is fine

It's commonly stated that before cats is going to be a more accurate reading than after the cats.

A/Fs sound good. Do you have cats? Typically you could end up with a leaner mixture by the time it gets to the end of the tail pipe, but this varies a bit from car to car. I'd get some readings from the collector.

Phil, just out of curiosity, do you mean the O2 sensor location with your wideband, or the O2 narrowband voltage reading?

So, your wideband or narrowband sensor?

It sounds like he is using the WB clipped to the tailpipe to measure AFR and wants to know the difference if measured at the standard WB O2 bung location.

FWIW - Each car is different but my car likes to idle between 14.8-15.2 and runs good at 12.8-13.1 at WOT. I don't have cats.

Don't be surprised when you find out you're reading .5 leaner than actual when sniffing the tailpipe. Pull a front 02 and tune in open loop.

hey boys

First I was collecting from the tail pipe, and was getting good readings.

Knowing I was getting a little leaner reading from my tail pipe clamp, I hooked up my wideband to the header. Before I had a chance to get a reading from the header, my computer crashed, but I had it dyno tuned and was about 12.5 at WOT ( from the tail pipe.)

I thought I was real fat because I was getting a reading of 15 AFR @ cruising, then I realized after my computer crashed, I had not reloaded the wideband software. Im commanding 1.26 on my fuel ratio table @ WOT.

Now that my computer is up to speed again. I need to hook everything back up. Right now the car is up on jack stands having curb rash repaired and new shoes put on.
