Cool LT1 Edit

I bought LT1 Edit from a member on this site and I have a question. How do I find out if it has already been used before? I know that the LT1 Edit software locks to 1 pcm and I just want to make sure that its never been used before or if I just got screwed. Any suggestions?

Just try to read your PCM, If it was used on one vehicle then it will give you an Vin Lock Error code...

Actually it is the firmware that locks. It can be set to a second PCM for $150. It should have the owner's name and VIN on the dongle. If you did not get the dongle, you just had sex.

What version of LT1 Edit is it? What release?
I have one of the early versions (1.3) and version 1.9. In 1.3, it's easy to swap the VIN in your tune to match the VIN LT1 Edit is expecting. In version 1.9, they extended the 'validation' process to not only look at the VIN but also the PCM's Serial Number. One guy wrote a 'crack' for that too but it only works on one specific release of 1.9x.
