LS1-LS6 cam install Tuning??
I've got the '02 WS6 in my sig and I'm looking to get some more power out of with out a lopey idle or sacrificing drivability. This car is a daily driver for my wife. I'm looking at swapping the cam out for the LS6 cam and would like to know if the stock tune will work or do I need to reflash the ECM? I appreciate any suggestions on other cams, however, I'm not interested in anything that sounds much different than stock.

Mods on the car include 85mm TB, shorty headers, SLP ORY, diablo tuner, slp lid, and K&N filter. I appreciate any suggestions on other cams, however, I'm not interested in anything that sounds much different than stock.

The stock tune will work well enough because that
cam is a very small improvement over stock. Which
makes me say, you ought to at least go a -little-
bigger. Unless you're really against tuning at all.
You can get really good idle and a not-objectionable
lope or sound, out of "old man" cams and basically
any where the LSA is more than half the duration.
Like a 220 on 114. My 224 on 116 wanted a bit of
work especially down low but it has come around
pretty nicely.
The only good thing about LS6 cams is the part itself
is cheap (and I guess the springs too). But the total
cost if you're hiring it done, leaves that in the dust.

LS1-LS6 cam instal tuning
Thanks for the info. I'm not against a little bigger cam, but I'm extremely limited on being able to tune the car other than a hand held like my diablo or sending the ecm off to someone as I'm located in fairbanks alaska. I didnt necessarily want to invest in the efi edit program if at all possible. That being said, how much larger could I go and maintain the stock tune modified with a diablo predator?
